Currently, Tata has Nexon and Harrier in sub 4 meters and 4.6 meters respectively. But the upcoming new SUV will be in between these two. That is, Creta and Seltos are going to get tough competition from Tata’s car soon.

According to media reports, the upcoming new Tata Blackbird SUV will be based on the existing Nexon, but its length will be about 4.3 meters longer than the Nexon. The company can name this new vehicle Blackbird. But this name is not final yet and changes are possible to it.

A new 1.5-liter petrol engine can be used in this car. Which will be bigger and more powerful than the 1.2-liter Revotron engine found in the Nexon. This engine will generate a power of 160 HP. Also, the option of manual and automatic transmission can be found in it. The initial ex-showroom price of this car can be around Rs 1.5 lakh. 11 lakhs.
Will compete with Creta
The upcoming Blackbird will rival the Hyundai Creta in the Indian market. This car is available in three engine options. Which includes a 1.5-liter MPI petrol engine, a 1.5-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine, and a 1.4-liter Kappa Turbo GDi petrol which outputs 113bhp and 143.8Nm, 113bhp and 250 Nm, and 138 Bhp respectively. This car is available in both manual and automatic transmission options.
