Yamuna Expressway New Speed Limit: The speed limit has changed on the Yamuna Expressway. From Thursday, the maximum speed limit of vehicles (expressway speed limit) has been increased to 80 kilometers per hour. Till now you could drive the car at a speed of 100 kmph. But now doing this can not only deduct your challan, but your life is also not free from danger. The authority has decided to reduce the speed limit in view of the decrease in road accidents due to fog in the cold season. An officer gave this information.
60kmph limit for these vehicles
He stated that the top speed restriction for light cars up until this point was 100 km/h. Additionally, the top speed restriction for large trucks has been lowered from 80 kph to 60 kph. The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Yamuna Development Authority, Smt. Monika Rani told that road accidents increase due to fog in the winter season. Low visibility greatly increases the risk of collision with fast-moving cars. In view of this, the Yamuna Authority has reduced the maximum speed limit of vehicles on the 165-kilometer-long Yamuna Expressway from Greater Noida to Agra.
He told that this system will be applicable from December 15 to February 15 next year. The Authority’s Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) said that the traffic police will take action against vehicles violating the maximum speed limit. JK Sharma, manager of Jaypee Infratech, the company that operates the expressway, said necessary changes have been made in the software so that effective action can be taken against vehicles violating the maximum speed limit. Additionally, steps will be taken to educate drivers on how to avoid collisions on the expressway.
