According to some media reports, the owner of a Tata Punch has used it as a commercial vehicle. The man stuffed orange crates inside the car. It was 700 kg. Carrying this load, the man drove the car for 125 km. It is claimed that it has got a mileage of 18 km per liter.

The owner of Tata Punch, who did this, had filled wooden and plastic crates in the cabin, inside which oranges were filled. Cardboard boxes filled with fruits were kept in the boot of the car. The car was fully loaded with fruit crates. The car was packed with so many crates that there was no room left. Using a passenger car like this as a commercial vehicle can be dangerous. Commercial vehicles are designed keeping commercial activities in mind while passenger cars are designed keeping various aspects in mind.

Tata Punch SUV price ranges from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 9.54 lakhs. These are ex-showroom (Delhi) prices. It comes in four variants namely Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. It also comes with Kaziranga Edition and Camo Edition. It is a 5-seater car and the vehicle gets 366 liters of boot space. The car comes with a 1.2-liter petrol engine that outputs 86 PS and 113 Nm. It gets the option of a 5-speed manual and AMT.

Its petrol manual variant can give a mileage of up to 18.97 kmpl and the petrol automatic variant can give a mileage of up to 18.82 kmpl. These are ARAI-certified figures. It comes with features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen system, semi-digital instrument cluster, auto AC, automatic headlights, cruise control, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and a rear parking camera.
