2023 Honda City Facelift: Honda Cars India is all set to give a mid-life update to its popular City sedan. According to the latest media reports, the sales of the new 2023 Honda City facelift will start by March. Retaining the existing powertrain, minor changes can be seen on the inside and outside of the new model. The company may include some new variants in its updated lineup. Some existing variants may also be removed.
The new Honda City has also been spied testing, which suggests that it will get redesigned alloy wheels and tweaked taillamps. The revised design can be seen on its front fascia. It will also get a slightly revised bumper, a bigger air dam, and an updated fog lamp assembly. No change is expected in its interior layout. However, the sedan may get a wireless charger and ventilated seats.
The new 2023 Honda City facelift will come with two powertrain options – 1.5L NA petrol and 1.5L Atkinson Cycle petrol hybrid. The NA petrol engine will generate 121bhp max power and the hybrid petrol engine will generate 126bhp max power. There will be no change in mileage. That is, its mileage will be 18.4 km/l (NA engine) and 26.5 km/l (Hybrid). Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, CVT, and e-CVT (only in the petrol hybrid variant).
Currently, the price of the Honda City sedan ranges from Rs 11.87 lakh to Rs 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom). The hybrid ZX eHEV variant costs Rs 19.89 lakh. With minor cosmetic changes and feature upgrades, the price of the facelifted version could increase slightly. After the City facelift, the Japanese automaker will also launch a new mid-size SUV.
