BYD Seal Electric Sedan Price: Tata Motors currently remains the country’s best-selling electric company (best-selling EV brand). Apart from this, many brands including Hyundai and Kia are trying to gain a foothold in this segment. China’s leading electric vehicle company Build Your Dreams (BYD) has entered India. The company is currently selling two cars and preparations for the third car have been made.
At the recently held 2023 Auto Expo, the company introduced its SEAL electric sedan (BYD SEAL). The special thing is that this car comes with a range of 700 km, power of 522hp, and torque of 670 Nm. The company had promised that it plans to bring it to India in the fourth quarter of 2023, and it looks like things are on track. The company has listed the BYD seal on its official website in India.
This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. In India, it can compete with cars like Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia Ev6. It is likely to be offered in two battery sizes, the 61.4 kWh and the larger 82.5 kWh.
The smaller battery will get a single motor setup that will produce 204 hp. It will offer a range of 550 km. While the big battery is going to give a range of up to 700km. It will have BYD’s Blade battery technology which greatly reduces the chances of battery fire. Furthermore, the actual range of blade battery technology remains very close to the claimed range.
It is claimed to be the only EV battery that has passed the ‘Mount Everest nail penetration test. BYD has not revealed the pricing estimate. It will be costlier than the BYD Atto 3 in the line-up. The cars it will compete with are priced between Rs 45 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.
