Bank Holidays March 2023: Banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days in March 2023 and weekends are also included in these. Therefore, without delay, finish all the work related to your bank this month itself. Banks in India continue to function on the first and third Saturdays of the month, while the second and fourth Saturdays are bank holidays. According to the calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in March 2023, private and public sector banks will remain closed for 12 days. Banks may also remain closed on all public holidays depending on the regional holidays of the particular state. Such regional holidays are decided by the respective state governments and are not mentioned on the official website of RBI.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has placed the holidays in three brackets. Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Negotiable Instruments Act and the Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday.

The first bank holiday starts from Chapchar Kut on the 3rd of March and other holidays like Gudi Padwa / Ugadi festival / Bihar Divas are falling on the 22nd of March. Banks in some states will observe holidays as per the RBI calendar. There are four Sundays in March which fall on March 5, 12, 19, and 26. The second and fourth Saturdays are on March 11 and 25. RBI has declared holidays on March 3, 7, 8, 9, 22, and 30 under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Apart from this, there are six bank holidays in March 2023 as per the RBI calendar.
