The Delhi government has begun the process of sending used car straight to be scrapped. According to representatives of the Transport Department, under this new plan, very old automobiles will be impounded and taken straight to the scrap yard if they are discovered operating on municipal roads or parked in public areas.
A spokesperson for the Transport Department stated that
“Ten teams of the enforcement wing on Wednesday confiscated diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years; a total of 50 such vehicles were seized and registered from the Civil Lines area.” The Scrapping Center received the car (RVSF).
In the National Capital Territory of Delhi, car owners
will have the opportunity to convert their ten- and fifteen-year-old diesel and petrol vehicles into electric vehicles. You can absolutely turn these automobiles into electric ones. Many businesses are working to convert your typical car into an electric vehicle.
Importantly, the Supreme Court prohibited the operation
of diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years in Delhi in 2018. Vehicles that disobey this order will have them impounded, according to the court. Since then, work has been done in this direction. The Delhi administration has now made a new effort in this direction. In accordance with this, the government is taking diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years as soon as they are discovered on the road and sending them to the junkyard.
