The majority of JEE Advanced winners solely enroll in computer science and associated engineering programs. The popularity of “Computer Science Engineering” is so great that many students are choosing not to enroll in IIT as a result. In reality, these students who have chosen not to attend IIT are not eligible to enroll in computer science courses at IIT based on JEE Advanced rank. Some students leave the IITs in such circumstances and enroll in other colleges and universities, such as Triple IT, NIT, and BITS. The primary cause of this is that they can enroll in computer science engineering programs at these institutions.
Out of the top 100 JEE Advanced rankers,
97 students have chosen the computer science subject, according to data provided by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. Students who are enrolled in the core engineering branch also want to work in IT since they think the field offers good salaries from the start.
Academicians criticize this trend as being incorrect,
but they also lament the fact that it is diminishing the significance of fundamental engineering roles. Many students and parents are making judgments in this regard without giving it much thought. Thousands of students are being admitted without hesitation into numerous private colleges’ various “Computer Science Engineering” programs. Lawmakers, regulatory agencies, and industry all play extremely unpleasant roles in this regard, and little is being done about it.
When it comes to starting pay for new computer science engineers,
IIT Madras and other IITs throughout the nation provided students with a package worth up to 40 lakhs per year. In addition, many institutions have seen an increase in internship offers for this engineering of up to 32%.
