In India, the number of hybrid cars is now progressively rising. Toyota and Maruti Suzuki are two automakers attempting to increase gas mileage using hybrid vehicles. Toyota introduced the Hyrider and Highcross, two hybrid cars, during the past year. Grand Vitara and Invicto, two vehicles launched by Maruti, are based on these two. A hybrid powertrain is additionally available with Honda’s City sedan. These vehicles all get outstanding gas mileage.
Automatic Toyota Grand Vitara
Both come with a 1.5L, 3-cylinder Atkinson Cycle Petrol Hybrid engine in the hybrid models. In this, the engine produces 92 horsepower while the electric motor produces 79 horsepower. While the hybrid system’s total power is 115 horsepower. It includes an eCVT gearbox. Both of them have a maximum fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl. Let us inform you that both of them are also offered with all-wheel drive, although that version does not feature a hybrid configuration.
Honda City Hybrid
It debuted the previous year. A 1.5L, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine is standard on the vehicle. There are also two electric motors present. According to the manufacturer, the Honda City Hybrid can get up to 26.5 kilometers per litre of gasoline. On a single tank, it has a range of up to 1,000 kilometers. It is also offered in a non-hybrid configuration. However, its mileage is lower.
Hycross Toyota Innova/ Maruti Invicto
The hybrid version’s powerplant is shared by both of them. Actually, the Toyota Innova Highcross is the sole inspiration for the Maruti Invicto. It is constructed using a monocoque design. Both come with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine paired with an e-CVT in the Strong Hybrid models.
