After two double centuries, Yashasvi went to the best ICC ranking of his career!

Yashasvi Jaiswal, a young batsman from India, has jumped 14 spots to rank in the top 20 of the ICC Test rankings after making two straight double-hundreds in the current Test series against England. Right now, he is ranked fifteenth in the batting rankings. Jaiswal became one of the seven cricket players to achieve two successive double-hundreds in Test matches. With this achievement, 22-year-old Jaiswal has joined Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli as the third Indian player to reach two centuries in a row in Test cricket.

Consecutive double-hundred

In the first innings of the second Test in Visakhapatnam, Jaiswal made 209 runs. Subsequently, India defeated England by 434 runs thanks to an undefeated 214-run second innings in Rajkot. Along with this victory, India took a 2-1 lead in the series. The fourth match of the series between the two teams will be played in Ranchi from 23 February. In this match, India will play to capture the series. At the same time, the England team would like to win this match and stay alive in the series.

Jadeja gained advantages too.

The ‘Player of the Match’ in the Rajkot Test, Ravindra Jadeja, also rose from 41st to 34th in the batting rankings as a result of his 112-run first-inning century, according to a statement released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Jadeja also claimed seven wickets throughout the game, which helped him move up three spots to take sixth position in the bowling rankings. After fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin moved up to second spot. Ashwin entered the elite group of players with 500 Test wickets in Rajkot. In the Test all-rounder rankings, Jadeja and Ashwin are still ranked top and second, respectively. At the all-rounder list, Jadeja cemented his spot with a career-best rating of 416 in ICC rankings.

With Kohli in the top 10, Rohit also gains

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, moved up one spot to number twelve in the batting rankings. In the Rajkot Test’s opening innings, he amassed 131 runs. Shubhman Gill (91), who was previously ranked 35th, moved up three spots. Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, who were making their Rajkot debuts, came in at 75th and 100th in the rankings, respectively. Despite missing out on the series for personal reasons, superstar batsman Virat Kohli is ranked eighth. The only other Indian player in the top 10 batting order is Kohli.
