On April 21, 2024, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will administer the written Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination. The Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy are open to applicants who pass this exam. Six hours will be allotted for the exam for these institutes. On the other hand, the written exam for the Indian Military Training Academy will last for four hours.
Date of UPSC CDS Exam 2024
The date of the CDS 2024 exam has been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The test is scheduled for April 21, 2024. As per the disclosed details, candidates need to arrive at the testing location half an hour prior to the exam’s start time. Ten minutes ahead of schedule, the examination center’s gates will close. This is where the exam shift timing is listed. The hours for the English paper are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The GK paper is scheduled for 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The time for the elementary mathematics paper is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Selection Process for UPSC CDS
The written exam is the first step in the hiring process. Three distinct exams, each worth 200 points, make up the 600-point exam. Based on these factors, the SSB exam selection list will be created of the total marks obtained in the written examination. The paper for all subjects is of 100 marks and 2 hours are given to complete it.
Interview for Personality and Intelligence Test
- Phase I and Phase II of the SSB process include the selection procedure. The only candidates eligible to move on to Phase II are those who pass Phase I.
- The Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and the Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT) comprise Stage I. Shortlisted candidates will be chosen based on how well they performed in the PP&DT and OIR Test.
- Stage II consists of a conference, a psychological test, a group testing officer task, and an interview. These examinations take four days to complete.
