On Wednesday, the South India Organised Retailers Association (ORA) made a significant decision and issued a warning to halt OnePlus smartphones sales offline. Actually, for the past few months, ORA has been requesting a specific response from OnePlus regarding some of its issues, but the firm has not yet provided one. As a result, ORA has now threatened to discontinue selling its smartphones offline in a letter to OnePlus.
What was said by ORA to OnePlus?
In a letter to OnePlus Technology India’s sales director, Ranjit Singh, ORA stated that during the previous year, the retailer organization experienced major disruptions in selling OnePlus goods, and those issues are still unresolved. The body claimed that even though we’ve been working with your organization to resolve these issues, very little progress or resolution has been achieved. The body says that the promises made by the company have not been fulfilled, leaving us with no option but to take this drastic step.
ORA claimed that shops
have found it difficult to stay in business due to several factors. Including consistently poor profit margins on OnePlus products, particularly in light of growing operational and financial expenses. Sales at more than 4,500 locations will end. All of these issues have led ORA to regretfully decide to cease retail sales of all OnePlus devices as of May 1, 2024. More than 4500 retail establishments in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat will be impacted by this ORA ruling. This implies that residents of these places won’t be able to purchase any products, including OnePlus smartphones, from physical retailers.
While the correspondence sent by ORA
to OnePlus India remains undisclosed at this time, Moneycontrol has claimed in its report that they have seen a copy of this letter, and for this, it has also contacted OnePlus and their Awaiting a response.
