The new Vantage from Aston Martin is available in India for an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 3.99 crore. Since its global debut a few months ago, Aston’s sports coupe has undergone significant cosmetic modifications. Significant alterations have also been made to its interior. It features a new software platform and dashboard. A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG powers the Vantage, but it has been greatly enhanced in power.
External style
With a massive front grille that stretches the full width of the front bumper, the new Vantage stands out from the vehicle it replaced. The headlamps have prominent character lines, the bonnet has redesigned intakes on the sides and comes with a new three-piece LED DRL signature, giving a family look to the DB12. Some similarities can also be seen in it the One-77 supercar. The rear bumper and diffuser configuration is more aggressive, and the air ducts on the fenders have been slightly modified in profile. In addition to having new frameless mirrors and flush electronic door handles, the Vantage has improved its overall design by being 30 mm wider than the previous model.
Inside and Aspects
There’s a new cockpit layout inside. The departing Vantage was heavily criticized for its outmoded software platform, which was derived from Mercedes, and its extremely disorganized interior design. On the other hand, this new software interface is currently available for use in DB12 and was just added to DBX SUV worldwide.
The new Vantage is equipped
with an infotainment system that was created internally. It boasts a new 10.25-inch touchscreen with capabilities including last-mile on-foot navigation, wireless smartphone mirroring, and 3D live mapping, all of which are powered by proprietary software that links to a specific smartphone app. Aston Martin prefers physical switchgear over digitalization, which is why it has a gear selector, driving control switches, climate control stack, override buttons for ESP, exhaust, lane assist, and parking sensors, among other things. They are still in place for numerous other purposes. Significant upgrades in interior quality, fit, and finish are also included, along with a new digital instrument cluster and steering wheel.
Engine and Parameters
This significant improvement has enhanced the power of the V8 engine coming from Mercedes-AMG. The basic Vantage is now as fast as the outgoing V12 thanks to an increase in output of 665 horsepower and 800 Nm, although maintaining the same 4.0-liter size and two turbos. It has a 3.4-second 0-100 mph acceleration time and a 325 mph top speed. The previous V8 car’s outputs were 510 horsepower and 685 Nm, while its 0-100 kph time was half a second slower. An 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is mated to this engine.
