The company’s best-selling SUV in rural regions is the Mahindra Bolero. Bolero Neo, its somewhat urbanized variant, was introduced with an emphasis on cities. You can buy these two separately. Bolero Neo has currently undergone crash testing by Global NCAP, an organization that rates the safety of cars based on their performance in crashes. The outcome is quite disheartening. The Boloro Neo has a crash test safety rating of just one star. The Bolero Neo’s low safety rating is concerning given the efforts being made to make cars safer in India to lower the number of people killed in traffic accidents.
The Mahindra Bolero Neo
received a single star for both adult and child passenger safety in the Global NCAP crash test. The test revealed that the structure and footwell area of ​​Bolero Neo is unstable. Due to this, the driver’s legs got poor protection and the chest got weak protection. Out of a total of 34 points for adult protection, Bolero Neo has got only 20.26 points.
The test report states that there is an increased
risk for all passengers seated on the side benches of the SUV. The car under evaluation featured two airbags and a Child Restraint System (PRS). But it was devoid of other crucial safety measures, including curtain airbags, and 3-point seatbelts for every passenger. And an off-switch for the passenger airbag. The ex-showroom costs of the four trim levels of the Mahindra Bolero Neo are Rs 9.90 lakh, Rs 10.50 lakh, Rs 11.47 lakh, and Rs 12.15 lakh, respectively. The trim levels are N4, N8, N10R, and N10 (O). A 1.5L diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission powers the SUV. This engine produces torque of 260 Nm and 100 PS.
Bolero Neo+
was recently released by Mahindra in two variants: P4 and P10, with prices of Rs 11.39 lakh and Rs 12.49 lakh, respectively. The Bolero Neo+ boasts a 2.2L diesel engine that produces 120PS and 280Nm of torque when paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
