WhatsApp Update: Android Users Get New Call Privacy Controls

WhatsApp is getting ready to introduce a new privacy option to its users in the near future. WABetaInfo reports that the app is testing a few new features.

WhatsApp is getting ready to introduce a new privacy option to its users shortly. Actually, the business is trying to make Android consumers’ audio and video calling experiences better. WABetaInfo reports that the app is testing a few new features. Users will now have more control before getting a call thanks to this functionality.

WhatsApp Update

This new feature will be available to you.

Users can now mute their microphone before answering a call thanks to this new functionality. To put it another way, you can turn off the microphone before answering a voice call if you are unable to speak right away. In a similar vein, a new video call function that will allow users to switch off their cameras before receiving calls is also being tested. This allows users to accept the call without turning on the camera and switch the video call to voice mode.

WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.10.16 contains this feature. The user can decide if the camera is already off by selecting the ‘Accept without video’ option that appears on the call screen. In addition, WhatsApp is developing an intriguing new feature to enhance the interactiveness of video calls. This function is called Live Emoji Reaction. With the help of this tool, users will be able to use emojis like the heart, laughing, and thumbs-up to convey their feelings in real time during video calls. During group video chats, where it might be important to respond without disrupting the discourse, this function will be particularly utilized.

The rollout could occur shortly.

While all of these features are currently in the testing phase, it is anticipated that testers will be able to access them through the Google Play Beta program in the near future. These upgrades may soon be made available to the entire public as well, if all goes according to plan.
