Indian Railways: Indian Railways continually makes improvements for the benefit of its customers. It is a part of the largest rail network in the world. Longer and longer distances can be traveled more easily and safely using Indian Railways. In order to prevent passengers from encountering any issues during their journey, the Railways changed the rules while keeping these factors in mind.
IRCTC tweeted to let people know.
After purchasing a train ticket, passengers frequently cancel it. In this case, a part of the payment is refused from the railway side and the remainder is refunded. Additionally, it frequently occurs that the passenger must cancel the ticket in an emergency after the chart has been prepared. The question of whether the ticket can be canceled after the chart is prepared may arise in such a situation. IRCTC tweeted information regarding this.
For a refund, a TDR form must be filled out.
When a ticket is canceled from the railroad side and not used, a refund is given. You must first fill out the TDR in order to receive a refund. Visit the IRCTC website at www.irctc.co.in to get started. Select the “My Account” link here. You can select My Transaction from the drop-down menu here.
Here, the TDR must be filled out by choosing any one of the options under File TDR. On your screen, you’ll see the passenger-related information. Following this, fill out the captcha with the train number and PNR, then click the box with the cancellation rules, and then submit.
OTP will now arrive on your registered mobile device. Enter your OTP to validate your PNR information. After completing this procedure, choose Canceled Ticket. The refund amount is now displayed on the screen. When a ticket is purchased, a confirmation message will be sent to the provided number.
