Mulayam Singh Yadav Death: Mulayam Singh Yadav is no more, ‘Dhartiputra’ breathed his last at the age of 82

Mulayam Singh Yadav Death News: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav has passed away. He breathed his last today (October 10) at 8:16 am at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram at the age of 82. Mulayam Singh Yadav was admitted to Medanta Hospital on 22 August after complaining of breathlessness and low blood pressure, but his health was not improving and he was shifted to ICU on October 1st, where a team of medical professionals was attending to him.

Wife Sadhna Gupta died in July

Earlier, Sadhna Gupta, wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav, died in July this year. He passed away after receiving treatment for a lung infection at a Gurugram private hospital. Sadhana was the second wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Malti Devi, his first wife, passed away in 2003. Akhilesh Yadav’s mother was Malti Devi.

SP established in 1992

Mulayam Singh Yadav, who took an active part in the Lohia movement, founded the Samajwadi Party on 4 October 1992. Mulayam Singh Yadav was called the wrestler of the political field. He was adept at dodging opponents. In the politics of the country’s largest state Uttar Pradesh, he achieved that position which is the dream of any leader. He commanded the state three times. He also became the Defense Minister of the country. He was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for eight terms.

A look at Mulayam Singh Yadav’s political career

In 1967, Mulayam Singh became an MLA for the first time. Following this, he was appointed as the state’s first Chief Minister on December 5, 1989. Mulayam started his political campaign from the Jaswantnagar assembly seat. He went ahead with the Socialist Party, Praja Socialist Party. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly in 1967, 1974, 1977, 1985, and 1989. Mulayam Singh was the CM of UP in 1989, 1993, and 2003. He was a part of the Lok Sabha as well.

He reached Parliament for the first time by winning the 1996 election. After this, he got a victory in 1998. His winning streak continued in the 1999 elections as well. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mainpuri in 2004. In 2014, he contested from Azamgarh parliamentary seat and Mainpuri and won both seats. The winning streak of this veteran SP leader continued in the 2019 elections as well and once again reached Parliament after winning from Mainpuri.
