Maharashtra: Lockdown extended for 15 days, CM Thackeray said this on the third wave

The Lockdown in Maharashtra was coming to an end on 1 June, but once again the lockdown has been extended for 15 days. In the cabinet meeting on Thursday, CM Uddhav Thackeray discussed with the ministers the situation of Corona. According to the information, it was decided to continue the lockdown in this meeting.

‘Cannot lower the alert’

For some days, cases of coronavirus are increasing in some districts of Maharashtra. CM Thackeray said, the production capacity of oxygen in Maharashtra was 12,500 MT which was increased to 13,000 MT but the daily requirement has reached 17,000 MT. ‘Corona is now more contagious’

Giving information about increasing the lockdown, CM Thackeray said, ‘There is a difference in the type of Kovid-19 virus this year compared to last year. It is now more contagious, spreading rapidly and patients are taking a long time to recover. ‘ He said, ‘We have another monster fungus in front of us which has to be fought. There are 3000 cases of mucormycosis in the state. The Coronavirus task force is monitoring it.

Continued dialogue with doctors

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said continuous dialogue with doctors is going on. Today the medical sector is facing a challenge due to the lack of definitive medical requirements for Kovid conditions and the constantly changing avatars of the virus. Even if the vaccine is given, it will take a long time until two doses are given to the entire population. There is a possibility that the third wave may infect children. Keeping all this in mind, we have consistently emphasized the need to communicate with all doctors.

Taskforce constituted

CM Thackeray said Maharashtra is the first state in the country to have a task force of specialist doctors. A Taskforce of local specialist doctors has been formed in all the districts. A task force of pediatricians has been set up separately for children. To increase the scope to include all private doctors, online OPD is being organized and efforts are being made to ensure uniformity in treatment modalities.
