During Auto Expo 2023, Maruti Suzuki also displayed the EVX electric concept cars, known as the Maruti Suzuki eVX. In addition, Hyundai, the second-biggest automobile manufacturer in India, has been busy developing the electric Creta, which has also been spotted in testing. These two cars will belong to the same market segment. It implies that following the launch, they will face off against one another.
Maruti Suzuki Concept Vehicle
Based on the eVX idea, Maruti Suzuki is getting ready to introduce its first electric vehicle of the upcoming cars in India. It is anticipated that the production version will debut in October or November of 2024. The Maruti EVX, which is set to be constructed on the cutting-edge Born-EV platform, might have a 60kWh LFP blade cell battery pack with a maximum range of 550 km on a single charge. Its design, however, is anticipated to undergo some modifications (compared to the concept).
The Hyundai Creta EV
The electric Creta is being prepared by Hyundai Motor India. Testing has also shown this to be the case. But as of right now, no details on its drivetrain are known. Rumour has it that the Creta EV, which could hit the Indian market by 2025, will use the same powertrain as the current Kona EV. Allow us to inform you that the Kona EV’s permanent magnet synchronous motor produces 359 Nm and 136 horsepower. Its 39.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides 452 km of ARAI-certified range.
