Xiaomi has made its debut in the electric car (EV) market. In Beijing, Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics and technology company, presented the SU7, its first electric car. The impending SU7, according to Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun, is “a dream car compared to Porsche and Tesla.”
Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Company Limited
(BAIC) will produce the SU7 for Xiaomi. The company’s well-known smartphone brand, Mi, will be used to market the electric sedan coupe, which will come in three different variants: SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max. The Xiaomi SU7 is available in three color combinations: Mineral Grey, Verdant Green, and Aqua Blue.
The 73.6kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate
(LFP) battery and the 101kWh Cell-to-body (CTB) battery pack are the two battery pack alternatives that Xiaomi SU7 was first offered with. Up to 800 km are thought to be its estimated range. Later, Xiaomi plans to release a new V8 version of the SU7 with a larger 150kWh battery pack.
Two powertrain options exist
for the electric sedan: single motor and dual motor. The single-motor model can reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h. The system will be rear-wheel drive.
There is a dual-motor all-wheel
drive system in place at the same time. It can reach a maximum speed of 265 km/h. Its 0-100 kmph time is 2.78 seconds.
