If you have a diesel car that is 10 years old, do this repair right now; your registration will not be canceled

Delhi government has taken a big decision regarding diesel vehicles. Under this decision, following the instructions of the National Green Authority (NGT), the Delhi government will cancel the registration of all diesel vehicles completing 10 years on January 1, 2022. If your car is also completing 10 years in January, then this news is for you only. 

Know what the rules say?

If your vehicle is also completing 10 years, then know that the government will issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for such vehicles so that they can be re-registered at some other place. But, if your diesel vehicle has completed 15 years of its life, then it will not get NOC from the government. That is, such vehicles will not be able to be registered anywhere.

Government-issued order

Delhi Transport Department has also given detailed information regarding this. Issuing the order, the Transport Department said, ‘No NOC will be issued for such diesel vehicles which have completed 15 years or more of registration. In such a situation, the only way left is to scrap these old vehicles? It’s not like that. There are some ways by which we can run these trains in Delhi.

The state government implemented the order of NGT

Due to rising pollution in the capital, the National Green Authority (NGT) in July 2016 issued a directive banning the registration and plying of diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years in Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region). had done. But, these vehicles can still be made capable of driving. For this, you will have to make some necessary changes to your vehicle. If you convert your more than 10 years old vehicle into an EV, then you can drive it in Delhi. 

15-year-old diesel car

If you also have a 15-year-old diesel vehicle and you do not want to sell it to take it to another state, then converting it to EV is the only option. The Delhi government has said that the old diesel vehicle can be converted into an EV and run in Delhi. The government had already announced a subsidy for converting diesel vehicles into EVs, the rules for which are being framed. 

What to do if you have such a car?

For this, you have to first convert your diesel vehicle into an electric vehicle.

If your vehicle more than 10 years old is converted into an EV, then you can drive it in Delhi.

You will have to spend some money to convert a diesel vehicle into an EV.

– Register your car in the name of a relative outside Delhi in their state and send the vehicle to that state.

– Or you sell that car to a car dealer who will take it for some other state.

Apart from this, you can convert your old vehicle into an EV.

– If you want, by spending 2-3 lakh rupees, convert the old car into an EV, then you will be able to drive that car in Delhi.
