TVS iQube electric scooter Sales: TVS Motor Company updated the iQube electric scooter in May last year. It includes new features, variants, and cosmetic enhancements including a bigger battery pack. With these updates, the sales of TVS iQube continued to grow and now it has achieved the highest (in any single month) sales in the month of December (2022). Last December, iQube electric scooters sold a total of 11,071 units, which is the highest number of sales in a month. Earlier in the year 2022, 10,056 units were sold in November, 8,103 units in October, 4,923 units in September, 4,418 units in August, 6,304 units in July, 4,667 units in June, 2,637 units in May and 1,420 units in April.

This suggests that after the launch of the updated TVS iQube in May 2022, there has been a spurt in its sales. In April last year, iQube sales were just 1,420 units, which increased to 10,000 units in November. Apart from this, it reached 11,071 units in December 2022. TVS iQube is currently being sold in three variants – Standard, S, and ST. Its standard variant and S variant get a 3.04 kWh lithium-ion battery pack while the top-spec ST variant gets a bigger 4.56 kWh battery unit.

The company claims that it can deliver a maximum range of 100 km, 100 km, and 145 km respectively on a single full charge. The standard variant of TVS iQube costs Rs 99,130 while the ‘S’ variant costs Rs 1.04 lakh. These prices are on-road Delhi. This price is after applying FAME II and state subsidy.

New Delhi: Two employees of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) were caught selling and recharging metro smart cards illegally. Apart from taking departmental action against him, DMRC has lodged a complaint at the police station. Both were posted at Qutub Minar metro station.

DMRC officials on Tuesday morning caught two employees working as customer care (CC) operators at Qutub Minar metro station selling smart cards. Out of this, one employee is of DMRC and the other is of an outsourced agency. Complaints were being received against him for the last few days. The officers were watching his movements.

He was caught red-handed at the station with 23 smart cards. The DMRC employee has been suspended along with the removal of the employee associated with the outsourced agency. The matter is being probed to find out whether more people are involved in this work.

Increased monitoring at metro station
Keeping this incident in mind, surveillance has increased inside and outside the metro station. A DMRC spokesperson says that since inception, Delhi Metro smart cards have been officially sold from station ticketing and customer service counters. Commuters have always been advised to purchase smart cards from designated locations at metro stations.
