Makar Sankranti…. today or tomorrow? Know the exact date, time of death, and auspicious time

This year also the screw has got stuck in the dates for celebrating Makar Sankranti 2022. According to some almanacs and astrologers, this year Makar Sankranti should be celebrated today i.e. on January 14 and according to some, tomorrow i.e. on January 15

Makar Sankranti has great significance in Hinduism. On this day the sun is Uttarayan. The Uttarayan time of the Sun is considered very good for death to attain salvation. This festival is celebrated on the occasion of the Sun changing its zodiac and entering Capricorn, hence it is called Makar Sankranti. Usually, this festival is celebrated on 14 January every year but sometimes this festival also falls on 15 January. This year also there is a lot of confusion regarding the dates of celebrating Makar Sankranti.

Makar Sankranti will be celebrated today or tomorrow 

According to some almanacs, Surya will enter Capricorn on Paush Shukla Dwadashi on January 14 at 02:14 pm and will also become Uttarayan. Therefore, according to some astrologers, Makar Sankranti should be celebrated on January 14. As soon as the Sun enters Capricorn, Kharmas will also end and auspicious work will start. At the same time, according to some other almanacs, the time of Sun’s entry into Capricorn has been given at 8 o’clock on the night of 14 January. According to this, the Sun of Makar Sankranti will rise the next day on January 15. Therefore, Makar Sankranti will be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on January 15. 

This is an auspicious time 

For those who are celebrating Makar Sankranti on January 14, the Punya Kaal for bathing, donation, worship will start from 07:15 in the morning on January 14 and will continue till 05:44 in the evening. At the same time, the Mahapunya Kaal Muhurta will remain at 09:10 am till 09:40 am i.e. 30 minutes. After this, it will be from 01:32 in the afternoon to 03:28 minutes.  

On the other hand, for those who are celebrating Makar Sankranti on January 15, the Punya period will be from sunrise on January 15 to 12:49 pm.
