Gujarat Titans is participating in the IPL for the first time and have chosen Hardik Pandya as its captain. Apart from Hardik Pandya, the team of CVC Group Ahmedabad has roped in Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill ahead of the auction.

How did the team get its name?
Team co-owner Siddharth Patel said about the name that we did a lot of research about Gujarat Titans. For this we had hired an agency, our effort was to present the image of the whole of Gujarat.
Team captain Hardik Pandya said that my family is from Gujarat, all the people live in Gujarat. When everyone came to know that I am captaining the Gujarat team, there is a lot of pride in their eyes. The team of Gujarat Titans has added Hardik Pandya for 15 crores, Rashid Khan for 15 crores and Shubman Gill for 8 crores. The team still has Rs 52 crore left which can be used in the auction.
Former India cricketer Ashish Nehra is associated with Gujarat Titans as a coach, while Gary Kirsten, who won the World Cup for Team India, will accompany the team as a mentor. Apart from these, Vikram Solanki will be the director of the team.
