In order to provide relief to the general public, the IRDAI announced that the ‘Corona Kavach Policy,’ which covers epidemic-related expenses at a low premium during Covid-19, has received a very strong response. As a result, the regulator has extended the policy’s time limit.

The policy of Corona Kavach: There is some good news for the general public. IRDAI, the insurance regulator, has extended the special corona policy ‘Corona Kavach’ for another six months. You can now take advantage of this policy until September 30th. Previously, this policy was only in effect until March 31, 2022. Previously, IRDAI issued these special policies for Corona until March 31, 2021, which was later extended until March 31, 2022.

At a very low premium, this special policy covers illness-related expenses during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Corona Kavach policy has elicited a strong reaction. This is why the policy’s deadline has been extended by the regulator IRDAI. ‘Corona special products will continue until September 30, 2022, in which renewal and purchase of corona products have been extended for 6 months,’ according to an IRDAI statement. Thousands of people purchased this policy during the Corona era.

What exactly is the Corona Kavach Policy?

Corona Kavach Policy is a policy that covers hospital expenses associated with covid-19. In the case of Kovid, you will receive full coverage for all types of medical expenses incurred during your treatment after purchasing this policy. Let us tell you that it was created specifically on the advice of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

How much can be covered?

This special policy will provide you with insurance coverage ranging from 50,000 to 5 lakh rupees. This policy was developed in response to the global pandemic of Corona. 

Tenure of policy

This special policy is available for three and a half months, six and a half months, and nine and a half months. At the same time, the cover’s premium ranges from Rs 500 to Rs 6 thousand.

Who is eligible to purchase the policy?

Let us tell you that the buyer can be between the ages of 18 and 65 when purchasing this policy. At the same time, the policy will be considered in effect after 15 days from the date of purchase. That is, you will only benefit from it after that.

These costs are covered.

The ICU charges and doctor’s consultation fees will be covered under this plan.

This includes the cost of a hospital bed.

The cost of a blood test, PPE kit, and oxygen is included.

It also covers the cost of the examination and diagnosis.

This special policy also includes a doctor consultation fee.

Medical expenses are covered under this plan for up to 30 days after hospital discharge.

If you are receiving corona treatment at home, the cost of medicine and monitoring will be covered for 14 days.
