Tata Motors has launched an electric SUV in India. The Tata Curve electric SUV will be the first Tata vehicle to be offered in an electric version rather than a petrol-diesel version. After two years, it will be available in India. The company has not specified how much it will cost. After a while, it will also be available with petrol and diesel engines.
The Tata Curve has a coupe roofline and is similar to the Tata Sierra EV concept shown at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Curve will be positioned above the mid-size SUV segment and below the premium SUV segment, according to Tata. It will have a range of up to 500 km on a single charge in its second generation.
Tata Motors has already stated that it will introduce approximately ten new electric vehicles (EVs) over the next five years. It will invest Rs 15,000 crore in this. LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) run across the width of the bonnet crease, from the sides, and into the ORVMs on the bumpers of the primary headlight vehicles when viewed from the front of the Tata Curve. The headlight is in the shape of a triangle.
It is outfitted with grey machine-cut alloy wheels. The Tata and EV logos are emblazoned on the car’s rear side. With its curved back windshield and sleek roof-mounted spoiler, it looks quite appealing.
It will have a longer wheelbase. It will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, MG Aster, Nishan Kicks, and Skoda Kushaq.
It will use a larger Li-ion battery pack and will have a range of 400-500 km, competing with the facelifted MG ZE EV and the upcoming Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia Niro EVs on the Gen 2 platform.
The Tata Curve concept’s interiors feature a unique dashboard, floating touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a large rotary dial, among other features.
