Range Rover 2022: In terms of luxury SUVs, the Range Rover stands out with its off-road capability. It is the most important product of Land Rover and also a brand in itself. However, the company is a late entrant in the SUV segment, which is a very lucrative niche. There are several other models in the market with Lamborghini, Bentley, and Rolls-Royce to give some competition to the Range Rover. Luxury SUV customers have a lot of options but the new Range Rover is a better vehicle than others and offers a lot of space thanks to its long wheelbase. We experienced its back seat and now it was the turn of driving.
This SUV is very big
Due to its new base, more cutting-edge engines, and other new innovations, the new Range Rover is a significant development for Land Rover. With a length of more than 5.2 meters, it is most likely the largest and longest SUV you can purchase in India. It’s big and has a lot of space, but it’s not too flashy or difficult. We believe it has a straightforward yet elegant appearance with recognizable Range Rover stylistic elements. However, it does have little touches, like the stylish taillamps. Due to its large size, it looks very attractive.
How is the engine and driving experience?
It takes a lot of care to drive such a big SUV on a daily basis. The first thing you’ll really be struck by is its sheer size because, for tight city streets, it’s certainly huge. However, its light steering and raised driving position helps a lot. It also gets all-wheel steering which makes the SUV very easy to steer and steers the rear wheels smoothly as well. Once you start driving, you get used to the size and the petrol variant we drove is quite silent. Its 3.0-liter mild hybrid petrol engine provides plenty of power with 400 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Which is great for the 8-speed automatic. The Range Rover is big and you will have to take care of the corners, but you will be surprised at its handling, as it is much better than its predecessor.
Great for off-roading
We didn’t do much off-roading but it can wade in water up to 900 mm deep. The vehicle’s ability to be lifted to a ground clearance of 295 mm was tested when we transported it to a particularly difficult site. No other ultra-luxury SUV performs off-road as well as the Range Rover.
How is the interior?
We haven’t talked much about the interior, but this is not an auto-pilot car in the LWB spec. Very easy to enter and exit. But, once inside, its cute little cabin won’t let you out. At the bottom, it has a sizable curved touchscreen and stylish climate control knobs. The interior made of soft leatherette material is very attractive. It has multiple screens. There are two new 11.4-inch touchscreens at the back as well as an 8-inch screen for the controls on the backseat, a new 13.1-inch infotainment screen, a 13.7-inch HD driver display, and HUD.
The king-size seats may be adjusted, and they are incredibly cozy. It is spacious and you can recline comfortably with its executive seats feature. The 35-speaker Meridian music system, cupholders, and even the larger armrest all have automatic controls, and the vehicle has a full glass top. The seats can be heated and cooled and you can even get a massage.
How much is the price?
The price of this car starts from Rs. 2.4 crores, but the car you are looking at in the review will cost you around Rs. 3.5 crores. Although it is highly pricey, you get a lot of luxury cars for your money. In this, you can also make it an off-road SUV whenever you want. Of course, the Range Rover brand name means that movie stars, celebrities, and the jet set buy it for its looks and road presence. It’s an icon that’s back in a new avatar.
Conclusion
We adored its luxury, comfort, features, design, and performance, but our roads cannot support a vehicle of its size and price.
