After electrification, passengers can get cheaper tickets during the journey. Along with this, railways will also benefit a lot. About 142 MW of solar plants and about 103 MW of wind power plants have been commissioned. Locomotives, Kolkata Metro rakes, Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) trains, Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trains as well as Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) based 3-phase systems are used.

75 cities will be connected

Along with this, PM Modi has said that by August 2023, 75 cities of the country will be connected by semi-high-speed trains. At present, Vande Bharat train is running on 5 routes of the country and soon the sixth train will also be flagged off. Country’s sixth Vande Bharat Express will run between Secunderabad (Telangana) and Jiyawada (Andhra Pradesh) stations.
