An owner of an Aadhaar card can save digital copies of his identity-related documents in DigiLocker, a smartphone application powered by the government’s cloud infrastructure. The same goes for your Driving Licence. You must attach your driver’s license to Digilocker if you frequently lose it at home and have received a ticket for it. With this, you may safely retain your driver’s license at home since the police won’t take your challan and only the soft copy that is currently in Digilocker will serve as your original Driving Licence.
A simple method for uploading a driving license to DigiLocker
- If you are not already a member, use the DigiLocker mobile app and “Sign Up” before continuing.
- Use your login information if you are already a registered member.
- Write “Driving License” in the search bar that appears on the home screen after logging in.
- The choice for a driving license will now appear; select it.
- Some of your information will already be written down here, but you still need to enter your DL number.
- Afterward, select Get Document. You can now see it in the DL app.
