On Tuesday, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued an order. Those whose driving license, learner’s license, or conductor’s license was due to expire will get relief from this ruling. The validity of learner, driving license, and conductor licenses has been extended until February 29, 2024, according to an order issued by the Road Ministry. Following this decree, licenses that were set to expire on January 31, 2024, and February 15, 2024, would instead be deemed valid through February 29, 2024.
Individuals were dealing with these issues.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways made this decision in response to reports that some individuals were having trouble renewing their licenses. Technical difficulties prevented individuals from renewing their licenses. Also, people were facing difficulty in converting their learner licenses into driver’s licenses. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has taken this decision due to infrastructure-related issues in its ‘Sarthi’ portal and extended the validity of the license.
In a circular,
the Road Transport Ministry reported that between January 31, 2024, and February 12, 2024, infrastructure-related problems were seen on the Sarathi portal. People encountered challenges in obtaining services related to licenses as a result.
No one will be subject to a fine.
According to the ministry, as a result, the validity of some driver’s licenses, conductor licenses, and learner’s permits that were set to expire between January 31, 2024, and February 15, 2024, have been extended until February 29, 2024. These individuals will also not be subject to a fine. These individuals’ licenses will be regarded as valid without any consequences.
