The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has enforced the “one vehicle, one FASTag” policy as of Monday. Its goal is to do away with the practice of using a single Fastag for several vehicles or connecting several Fastags to a single vehicle. More than one Fastag cannot be put on a vehicle, according to a senior authority.
He said, “Those who have
multiple Fastags for one vehicle will not be able to use them from April 1.” NHAI has introduced “One Vehicle, One Fastag” in response to the issues encountered by car owners utilizing Paytm Fastag. The initiative’s compliance deadline was extended till March 31. By doing this, the authorities hope to outlaw the connecting of many Fastags to a single car as well as the usage of the same Fastag for various vehicles. To promote the efficiency of the electronic toll collection system and improve mobility at toll plazas, NHAI has initiated the ‘One Vehicle, One Fastag’ project.
Customers and business
owners of Paytm’s subsidiary Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) were given notice by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to move their accounts to other banks by March 15. We would like to inform you that Fastag has over eight crore users and reaches over 98 percent of automobiles.
NHAI is the operator
of India’s Fastag electronic toll collection system. Utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, Fastag pays tolls straight from the savings or prepaid account that is connected to the toll owner. At toll plazas, cashless payment is possible with the aid of FASTags. Because of this, cars spend less time at the toll plaza and wait less to be paid.
