In a recent crash test conducted by Japan NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme), the fourth-generation Maruti Swift 2024 hatchback received a 99% score, good for a 4-star safety rating. The hatchback’s Collision Safety Performance score was 81% or 81.10 out of 100.
The findings of crash tests indicate
that it offers excellent frontal and side impact protection for occupants. With scores of 99% and 100% in Preventive Safety Performance and Automatic Accident Emergency Call System, respectively, it did better. The new 2024 Suzuki Swift received a total score of 177.80 out of 197, or 90%.
It’s important to note that the Suzuki Swift
marketed in Japan is equipped with the ADAS suite, which includes safety features including Lane Keep Supporting Function, Dual Sensor Brake Support, Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Monitoring System, and Adaptive High Beam Assist. In addition, this hatchback has a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, start notification sound, and rear cross-traffic alert. Nevertheless, these amenities won’t be included in the new Maruti Swift 2024, which is scheduled to go on sale in India the second week of May. It will differ slightly from the Swift built to Japan’s specifications. It’s possible that its safety rating differs from that of the Japanese model. Additionally, the robust hybrid powertrain option offered by the global model could not be accessible for the India-spec Swift.
Suzuki’s new 1.2-liter,
A 3-cylinder petrol engine, which is capable of mild hybridization, may be offered with the new Maruti Swift. Its torque and power outputs are still unknown. Nonetheless, compared to the Swift’s current engine, Suzuki’s new Z-series petrol engine can provide greater fuel efficiency. The new Maruti Swift 2024 will measure 3860 mm in length, 1695 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height.
