Soon, Force Motors will introduce the 3-door and 5-door Gurkha models. The company has now published a teaser video of the off-road SUV, showing off a glimpse of its design, in an attempt to attract buyers.
With the introduction of BS6 Phase II standards,
the previous 3-door Gurkha was phased out. The Mahindra Thar and the upcoming 3-door Gurkha will be rivals in the market. Simultaneously, the 5-door Gurkha is expected to face competition from the Mahindra Thar 5-door and the current Maruti Jimny, which is expected to make its debut in August 2024. The same 2.6-liter diesel engine (from Mercedes) and 5-speed manual gearbox are probably going to be installed in both variants. Although the power and torque numbers are unknown at this time, the engine produced 250 Nm of torque and 91 horsepower in the previous model.
A shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob
could be located on the center console, close to the driver’s seat, of the new Gurkha five-door. The diff-lock levers on the original Gurkha three-door were separate from each other. Behind the gear lever was a manual transfer case. The Force Gurkha 3-door and 5-door variants will share a lot of the same design elements. Only a few things will change: the front and rear bumpers, rear doors, and a slightly longer wheelbase. The recognizable round headlights and two-bar grille in square housing can be found in both models.
It can come with
brand-new 16-inch alloy wheels and 245/70 R16 tyres. The new Gurkha will come with a tonne of extras, including a rear ladder, jerry can holder, and roof rack, according to the teaser trailer.
In terms of cost,
the new Gurkha three-door model might be a little pricey. The previous one could be purchased for Rs 15.10 lakh. In addition, the 5-door Gurkha may cost between Rs. 1-1.5 lakh more than the 3-door variant.
