The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the Covid-19 curfew until May 10th. Details can be found here.

The Uttar Pradesh government announced on April 29 that weekend curfews will now be extended to Mondays as well. After that, the order was extended until May 6th.

The Uttar Pradesh government has agreed to extend the partial curfew imposed in the state due to an unprecedented increase in coronavirus infections.

The limitations will now last until 7 a.m. on May 10th.

“The Uttar Pradesh government has agreed to extend the partial ‘corona curfew’ until 7 a.m. on May 10,” ACS Information Navneet Sehgal.

The decision was made to stop the virus from spreading further.

All shops and businesses are expected to remain closed until the orders are relaxed. All vital services will be permitted, and the Covid-19 vaccination campaign will begin.

On April 29, the Uttar Pradesh government declared that weekend curfews will now extend to Mondays as well. The order was later extended until May 6th.

Uttar Pradesh’s Cases

On Tuesday, the state surpassed 350 daily Covid-19 deaths, with 352 patients succumbing to the virus.

Official figures show that one-day recoveries outnumbered new cases by over 12,500.

According to the results, the state registered 25,858 new cases and 38,683 recoveries.

The new additions bring the total number of coronavirus deaths, infections, and active cases in the state to 13,798 deaths, 13,68,183 infections, and 2,72,568 active cases.

The state’s total number of patients discharged from hospitals is 10,81,817.

Kanpur was responsible for 66 of the 352 new deaths, followed by Ghaziabad (24), Lucknow (14), and others (22). According to the state government, Varanasi (19), Jhansi (15), and Gautam Buddh Nagar (11) are the most populous cities in the state.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a massive testing drive in rural areas beginning on May 5 to protect villages from the pandemic.

Monitoring committees will go door-to-door with infrared thermometers and pulse oximeters to check people’s temperatures and oxygen levels as part of this campaign
