Dhanteras is the first day of the Diwali festival. On the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha in the Kartik month, Dhanteras is observed. Dhananvati Jayanti is also observed on this day. Lord Dhanvantari is said to have emerged with the nectar urn during the churning of the seas. It was Dhanteras on that particular day.

According to Acharya Indu Prakash, it is customary to purchase anything from the market on Dhanteras day. Purchasing gold or silver items is extremely significant. On this day, many individuals purchase Lakshmi-Ganesh gold and silver coins, which are regarded particularly auspicious. Those who cannot afford these can purchase utensils made of brass, copper, or other metals. Purchasing metal items on this day is considered lucky. As a result, on this day, something metal must be purchased and brought home.

It is said that anything is purchased on Dhanteras day would be blessed. It brings four moons to the house’s happiness and wealth. On Dhanteras, most individuals buy steel or aluminum utensils. However, this should not be done. Because this metal is associated with Rahu. On the day of Dhanteras, items that are naturally derived rather than man-made are brought home. Bringing it into the house and keeping it decorated is thus considered unlucky and a sign of bad luck.

Glass

Glass, like glass, is connected to Rahu. As a result, on Dhanteras day, only purchase glass things.
