Mukesh Ambani set an example
It is important to note that Mukesh Ambani did not receive his income prior to this, not even in 2021–2022. In other words, Mukesh Ambani has not received pay overall for the past two years. In each of these years, he did not receive any compensation from Reliance for his roles as Chairman and Managing Director in the form of allowances, perquisites, retirement benefits, commissions, or stock options. As a personal example, he had already limited the Chairman and Managing Director’s compensation to Rs 15 crore starting in 2008–09. The remuneration of his cousins Nikhil and Hetal Meswani remained unchanged at Rs 24 crore, but this time included a commission of Rs 17.28 crore. There was a marginal decline in the remuneration of executive directors PMS Prasad and Pawan Kumar Kapil.
