The Central and State governments will make significant investments in hiring a large number of language teachers in all regional languages throughout the nation after the NEP 2020 Guidelines are put into effect.
Three Language Formula: The New Education Policy 2020’s proposal to teach three languages has once again drawn criticism, particularly from Tamil Nadu. The previous 1986 education policy was replaced by a new one in 2020 after years of negotiations, but the argument over teaching three languages has resurfaced, particularly because of concerns about Hindi being imposed with force.

What do the three languages mean?
The new education policy mandates that pupils study three languages, with at least two of those languages being Indian. States are free to select the language of their choice, and this law applies to both public and private schools.
Is it possible to study foreign languages as well?
At the secondary level, children can learn foreign languages like Korean, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish in addition to Indian and English. They will have a broader understanding of the globe, learn about various cultures, and be able to take advantage of better possibilities down the road.

What is said in the recently adopted education policy?
The “early implementation of three languages to promote multilingualism” is discussed in the new education policy at the school level. The three languages will be used “with the constitution’s provisions, people’s aspirations, regional and national aspirations, and the need to encourage multilingualism and national integration in mind,” according to the policy. The strategy does, however, also provide that no state would be forced to use any of the three languages and that there will be greater flexibility in this regard.
States, regions, and students themselves will choose which of the three languages taught to youngsters, provided that at least two of them are Indian. According to the guideline, students who want to switch up one or more of their three languages can do so in Grades 6 or 7, provided that they can show that they can communicate in three languages at a basic level by the conclusion of secondary school, including one Indian language at the literature level.
According to the policy, both the federal and state governments would make significant investments in hiring a large number of language instructors in all regional languages across the nation after it is put into effect. Languages included in the Indian Constitution’s Eighth Schedule will receive special attention from this endeavor.
