Haryana Budget 2023: Rs 1.83 lakh crore budget, increase in pension, read CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s big announcements

Haryana Budget 2023: After Uttar Pradesh, Haryana’s budget was presented on Thursday. No new taxes would be imposed on the general public, according to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who presented the state budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2023–2024. Khattar also holds the charge of Finance Ministry of the state of Haryana. He has presented a budget of Rs 1,83,950 crore for the coming financial year, which is 11.6 percent higher than the revised estimate of Rs 1,64,808 crore.

No proposal for any kind of tax

Presenting the fourth budget of the second term of the BJP and JJP government, the Chief Minister said in the assembly that there is no proposal to impose any kind of tax in the budget. Also, the Chief Minister proposed in the budget to raise the monthly social security pension from Rs 2,500 to Rs 2,750 and to enhance funding for the Haryana Gau Raksha Seva Aayog from Rs 40 to Rs 400. He announced to fill at least 65,000 regular posts in 2023-24.

The Chief Minister also mentioned establishing fire training facilities in each district of the state of Haryana. The maximum age for older folks riding in Haryana Transport Corporation’s highway buses has been lowered from 65 to 60 years old. That is, now on attaining the age of 60 years, senior citizens will get 50 percent discount in fare. Besides, keeping young children in mind, Khattar proposed to add 4,000 play schools in the coming two years by converting Anganwadi centers.

14 new bypasses will be constructed
During the budget speech, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the state government would construct 14 new bypasses. Along with 10 percent increase in social security pension, announced a pension of Rs 10,000 per month to artists. This pension will be given under the ‘Pandit Lakhmi Chand Kalakar Samajik Samman’ scheme. Cashless medical facilities will now be made available to government-accredited journalists.
