To improve its market share in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki is placing a significant wager on SUVs. At the Auto Expo 2023, the company unveiled the new Jimny 5-door and Fronx, for which reservations opened on January 12, 2023. In just four months, these sport utility vehicles have been reserved more than 50,000 times. The Jimny and the Fronx had 23,500 and 13,500 reservations, respectively, by the end of March. However, by May 1, there were about 53,000 of these SUVs on order.
The number of reservations for the Fronx has nearly doubled
over the past month, with the business currently having 26,500 reservations. The new Franks’ prices have already been disclosed by the company, and deliveries have begun. Its price ranges from 7.47 lakhs to 13.14 lakhs rupees. Additionally, the Jimny 5-door’s prices will be revealed later this month. Before its formal introduction, 26,500 reservations have been made for the off-road SUV.
A 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces
98.6 bhp and 147.6 Nm power the Fronx. Both a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT are available. A 1.2-liter NA petrol engine with an output of 88.5 Bhp is also an option. The 5-speed MT and AMT transmissions for this engine are available.
The 1.5-liter NA petrol engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Jimny
produces 103 bhp and 134 Nm. Additionally, the SUV comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission for better off-road performance.
