Today is your last chance to file your income tax return for the fiscal year 2022–2023 if you haven’t already. Yes, you might have to pay a fine if your ITR is filed after today. Due to the expiration of the last day, many Income Tax Returns (ITR Filing) were submitted by individuals on Saturday and Sunday. For the fiscal year 2022–2023, more than six crore Income Tax Returns (ITR) had been submitted by Sunday night.
Surpasses the amount from the previous year
This amount has surpassed the number of ITRs filed through July 31 of last year as of Sunday evening. The deadline for filing an ITR has been set for July 31 for members of the salaried class and those who do not need to have their accounts audited. According to a tweet from the Income Tax Department, “more than 6 crore income tax returns have been filed as of 6:30 pm on July 30. Of those, 26.76 lakh ITRs were filed on Sunday.”
If there is a problem, delete the browser’s cache.
The department claimed that taxpayers receive ongoing assistance for ITR filing via phone, live chat, and social media. The Income Tax Department informed taxpayers that the e-filing facility is operational. Try again after clearing the browser’s cache if the website is the source of any issues. Taxpayers can also mail at orm@cpc.incometax.gov.in with details if the issue continues.
