Before the New Year, residents in Delhi-NCR who drive CNG vehicles received yet another surprise. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) raised the price of CNG in Delhi-NCR on Thursday by Rs 1 per kilogram. Shortly, other goods will also be impacted by the increase in the price of CNG. Even three weeks prior, on November 23, IGL raised the price of CNG.
The rate in Delhi went up to Rs 76.59.
The cost of CNG in Delhi-NCR has jumped to Rs 76.59 per kilogram following a recent price increase. Likewise, it will now cost Rs 81.20 per kilogram in Noida and Greater Noida. Additionally, it will be offered in Ghaziabad at the rate of Rs 81.20 per kg. The rate of CNG in Gurugram has increased to Rs 82.62 per kg. The new rate has been implemented from 14 December 2023.
The tariff
of CNG in Delhi was Rs 74.59 per kg when the price was raised in Delhi-NCR in November. Similar to this, during the past three weeks, the price per kg has grown in Noida by Rs 2. In July, the criteria used to set rates were modified to mitigate the impact of the recent price increase. Following this, rates decreased in several states, including Delhi.
Notably, the government established
a commission in October 2022, chaired by Kirit Parikh, to regulate the escalating cost of CNG-PNG. The committee’s recommendations served as the foundation for the creation of the new formula.
