Rohit Sharma will lead Team India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, according to a statement released on Wednesday by Secretary of the BCCI Jai Shah. Hardik Pandya, a talented all-around player, has been named the team’s vice-captain. This declaration was made at a gathering held in Rajkot before the third Test in the India vs. England series. Now that this revelation has been made, all speculation is over.
Team India’s performance on Wednesday
was commended by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. He claimed that despite losing the 2023 ODI World Cup final, India had won 10 straight games and captured the hearts of the supporters. Shah stated during a gathering held before India’s third Test match.

He expressed his confidence that Team India will win the T20 World Cup this year under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. It was also revealed during this Rajkot-organized program that the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium would be renamed. This stadium will henceforth be known as Niranjan Shah Stadium. In remembrance of former BCCI secretary and first-class cricketer Niranjan Shah, the alteration has been made.
