Service for purchasing tickets via the internet

Under the Indian Railways, IRCTC sells tickets online (e-Ticket). Passengers create login and passwords for tickets on this platform. Then take advantage of online reservations. You must submit your email address and phone number in order to generate a login password. That is, you can only purchase tickets after verifying your email address and phone number.

So the guidelines

As soon as the corona chaos subsides, trains have begun to run on the track. Ticket sales have soared as a result of this predicament. Approximately eight lakh railway tickets are currently being booked every 24 hours. The process of cellphone number and email verification has begun, according to senior officials at the IRCTC’s Delhi headquarters, to ensure that the first and second waves of corona infection, as well as accounts that were dormant on the platform prior to then, were not affected.

What method is used for verification?

The verification window appears when you log in to the IRCTC portal. Fill up the email address and phone number that has already been registered. On the left, there is now an option to modify, and on the right, there is an option to verify. By selecting the edit option, you can alter your apna number or email address. An OTP (One Time Password) will be issued to your phone number if you choose the verification option. When you enter the OTP, your mobile number is validated. Verification of email addresses will be required as well. The OTP obtained in the email is used to verify it.
