The Volkswagen Tiguan SUV’s third generation has made its official debut. It is anticipated that it will launch globally in the first quarter of 2024. Significant aesthetic, interior, and mechanical upgrades will be made in the new Tiguan. Let’s begin with its engine. A new 1.5L petrol engine with mild hybrid technology will be included with the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. 131 horsepower will be produced by this arrangement. With front-wheel drive (FWD), however, it can reach 150 horsepower. Its 2.0L petrol engine, which will produce 204 horsepower and 265 nm, has also been modified.
Engine update
The FWD TDI and FWD TDI 4Motion variants of the 2.0L turbo diesel engine now include an upgraded exhaust system. It will produce 150 and 193 horsepower, respectively. The 1.5L eTSI engine with a stronger electric motor now serves as the foundation for the petrol-hybrid powertrain. According to Volkswagen, the new hybrid vehicle may have an electric range of approximately 100 kilometers.
Gearbox
The plug-in hybrid edition of the 2019 Tiguan will have a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox, while the petrol and diesel models will have a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The MQB-Evo platform, which is used in numerous Volkswagen and Skoda cars worldwide, is the foundation for the new Volkswagen Tiguan.
Features
The SUV will be 4 mm taller and 30 mm longer than it was previously. It measures 1,539 mm in height and 4539 mm in length. The 10.3-inch digital instrument panel and 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a backlit slider controller come standard on the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan.
