Railways has started 34 new trains before Dusshera & Diwali!

Due to the high volume of people traveling home during the holiday season, Northern Railways has begun operating 34 special trains beginning of this Wednesday. Between October 18 and December 11, this special train will go on 377 different routes. Special trains will operate among these, making 351 trips to the country’s eastern region and 26 journeys to the northern region.

According to Shobhan Chaudhary,

general manager of Northern Railway, “Apart from these 34 trains, additional coaches will be added to the existing 69 trains.” In total, Northern Railway would add 5.5 lakh seats due to the increased passenger traffic during the holiday season. Major cities across the nation are served by these special trains, including Delhi, New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Patna, Chapra, Jogbani, Saharsa, Jayanagar, Katihar, Guwahati, Darbhanga, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Barauni, Raxaul, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Lucknow, Kolkata, and Sri Lanka. Katra, Amritsar, Saharanpur, and Ambala would all be connected by Mata Vaishno Devi.

Prospective passengers are invited to contact

Northern Railway’s inquiry offices and social media accounts for information on the special train. In order to accommodate the increasing demand during this time, more arrangements, according to Chaudhary, have been prepared. “I think that additional arrangements will meet the increased demand,” Chaudhary remarked. We’ll monitor the situation, and if we determine that more special trains are necessary, we’ll take that into consideration as well. This should suffice for the time being. “Apart from operating special trains, we have decided to open special ticket windows and operationalize all existing windows to avoid long queues at the booking counter,” he stated.

He added that plans will also be made to handle the surge in passenger traffic.

In addition, Northern Railways recommends holiday travelers on Wednesday to arrive at the stations 15 to 20 minutes before the departure of their trains to prevent problems like crowding and stampedes. Shobhan Chaudhary, general manager of Northern Railway, told reporters that if passengers arrive early, special waiting places will be set aside for them to wait. This will assist in easing the strain on platforms with limited space.
