The richest cricket league in the world, the IPL, could undergo significant upheaval. This modification will take place as the title sponsor. A fresh request for bids to be the league’s title sponsor was made on Tuesday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). There are already rumors that the Indian Premier League (IPL) will no longer be known as the “Tata IPL” starting in the following season.
BCCI released a bid
A new title sponsor for the upcoming season of the esteemed Twenty20 league, the Indian Premier League, is a given. The IPL’s 2024–2028 title sponsor rights are up for bid, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been notified. “The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) invites bids,” the BCCI stated in a statement.
The bid was open until the end of 2024.
The BCCI has recently released new tenders for the IPL title sponsor position, which was previously under contract with Tata Group until the end of the 2024 season. It is crucial to remember that the Indian group has a four-year window in which to reapply if it wishes to.
The deadline is January 8th.
Following the “Vivo” company’s resignation due to political tensions between India and China, Dream-11 provided title sponsorship to Tata Group. In 2021, it supplanted Vivo, a Chinese manufacturer of smartphones. The procurement period for the Invitation to Tender (ITT) is set for January 8, 2024. The ITT contains all of the specific terms and conditions for the tender process, such as eligibility requirements, the procedure for submitting bids, rights and obligations, etc. All of these would be given following receipt of the non-refundable fees of Rs 5 lakh + GST.
