Tata Motors aspires to dominate the electric vehicle market. From the start, it has pursued an extremely aggressive EV strategy. Punch has now gone electric, joining the Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV that it was previously selling. This is not where the company will end. It plans to introduce at least three new electric vehicles shortly. Two of them might be electric adaptations of the company’s current SUVs, the Harrier and Safari. The third will be a brand-new type. Its new electric models are the Safari EV, Curve EV, and Harrier EV.
The Safari EV and Tata Harrier EV are presently undergoing testing.
They have frequently been spotted driving their prototype. The spy photos reveal that the electric SUV will come with EV-specific elements both inside and out compared to its facelifted internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts. It can be based on Acti.EV (Gen 2) platform. These models are expected to have a range of more than 500 km.
Although the Harrier EV and Safari EVs
exact specifications are yet unknown, it is anticipated that both vehicles will feature 50–60 kWh battery packs. The standard configuration is a front-wheel-drive (FWD) design, but a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is anticipated to be an option as well.
In addition to this
the Tata Curve EV is preparing for release. Tata may, however, release its internal combustion engine (ICE) version in the middle of 2024 before its EV version. However, an EV version will also be released after that. Acti.EV platform may potentially serve as its foundation. Features including ADAS, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver display, a redesigned steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated seats are possible features of the Curve EV.
