For motor vehicles, a PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate is required. Owners of vehicles must update it within the allotted time. To accomplish this, the car must be tested at the PUC center, and if it passes the test, a PUC will be issued. However, a lot of PUC fraud involving the certificate’s issuing has been discovered.

It was mandated that NIC update the portal for checking pollution. The app will now be used to inspect cars for pollution. These details have been provided by officials. This measure has been implemented to guarantee the tangible presence of automobiles during pollution assessments and to avert the utilization PUC fraud.
The PUCC Version 2.0
The Portal has replaced the PUC Certificate Portal to accommodate this. A pilot program utilizing the new portal has also been launched at certain Lucknow-based pollution testing facilities. Furthermore, in light of its success, the portal will now be launched on April 15 throughout the entire state. After that, the PUCC Centre App will be required to be used by all state-wide pollution testing facilities.
Three mobile devices can use the app at one location.
However, only one mobile device will be able to log in at once. Only 30 meters around the permanent pollution testing facility may be used. The mobile van pollution checking center’s maximum distance from the transport office will be 40 km at the same time. Because of this, the location will have to be fed into the app. This will improve the app’s functionality and allow for location tracking and the reduction of PUC fraud. It will be necessary to snap pictures of the vehicle’s front, side, and rear using the app to process PUC. It will also need to be captured on video.
