Though many may question if February 3rd, being a Saturday, is a bank holiday, the short answer is no. The second and fourth Saturdays of the month typically have banks off. Therefore, all duty days and first and third Saturdays are scheduled as usual. Additionally, the fifth Saturday of the month would likewise be a working day.

Nonetheless,

there are 11 holidays in all this month, including Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the holidays will fluctuate throughout states and follow the regional customs of various parts of India.

• 4 February: Sunday
• 10 February: Second Saturday/Losar wherein Gangtok will remain closed.
• 11 February: Sunday
• 14 February: Basanta Panchami/Saraswati Puja (Shree Panchami) (Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata)
• 15 February: Lui-Ngai-Ni (Banks will remain closed in Imphal)
• 18 February: Sunday
• 19 February: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti (Banks will remain closed in Belapur, Mumbai, Nagpur)
• 20 February: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl, Itanagar, due to State Day/Statehood Day
• 24 February: Second Saturday
• 25 February: Sunday
• 26 February: Nyokum (Banks will remain closed in Itanagar)

In the meantime, both public and private sector banks

will continue to offer online banking services, including on holidays. Customers must therefore carefully arrange their trips to their local branches by noting scheduled bank holidays and their precise dates. The list of bank holidays is published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It is determined by several criteria, such as state and national holidays, observance of cultural or religious holidays, operational needs, official statements from the government, and cooperation with other banks.
