Despite not making any significant announcements during the budget statement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has undoubtedly handed women a gift. A target of 3 crore ‘Lakhpati Didi Scheme’ from 30 crore Mudra loans has been set by the Finance Minister. She announced connecting Asha workers with the Ayushman plan and discussed modernizing the Anganwadi center. During the budget speech, the Finance Minister brought up the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative.
‘Lakhpati Didi Scheme’ is discussed in the budget
According to the Finance Minister, one crore women have attained Lakhpati Didi status. Others will be motivated by their achievement and hard effort. The Minister of Finance declared that we would add one crore extra lakhpati didis. The Lakhpati Didi Yojana has improved the lives of 9 crore women. There is a plan to make three crore women ‘Lakhpati Didi’.
The Central Government initiated the Lakhpati Didi Scheme
to provide financial empowerment to women. On August 15, 2023, PM Modi referred to this plan in his speech. This program was created to help rural women in the nation become millionaires and to better their economic status. It is a skill development training project. The country’s women are provided with skill training via this program, which teaches rural women technical skills including fixing drones, LED bulbs, and plumbing.
For women making Rs 1 lakh and more,
workshops will be held where they will learn about financial instruments, investments, savings, and budgeting. It is advised that they save regularly. They receive minor loans for things like industry, education, and business. They receive training on how to use mobile wallets, digital banking services, and other digital platforms. This project aims to improve the personal and professional lives of women by empowering them through empowerment programs. Let us inform you that many states have seen women’s yearly incomes exceed Rs 1 lakh or higher as a result of utilizing this initiative.
